Barbara Nickless (Director of Adjudicating)

Barbara has been involved in Calisthenics since 1953 as a pupil, coach and adjudicator. Barbara commenced adjudicating in 1980 and has adjudicated at Nationals, RSSS., Interstate and at all Melbourne metro. Competitions. She was presented with a National Official of the Year in 1997 and Vic. Sports Ed. Official of the Year in 2006. This year A.S.C.A. Vic. awarded Barbara Life Membership. At the A.S.C.A. Vic. Branch Barbara has been on the Committee for over 20 years, President for 9 years also Secretary and Cadet Co-Ordinator. Barbara sat on the C.V.I. Board for 8 years and the C.V.I. Comp. Committee for 4 years. Barbara has served on the Adjudicators Advisory Board (1989-1999) (2003 - 2008). In March 2008 Barbara was appointed as Director of the AAB. She is also an E.A.B. Examiner.


Kerryn Waddell (ASCA delegate - Victoria)

Kerryn joined ASCA in 1989, and has been involved on Committee as Secretary, Assistant to Cadet Training, Delegate on CVI and Competition Committee, ASCA/CVI Seminar Presenter, Vice President and currently President. She has adjudicated at the Nationals, CVI State Championships, Royal South Street Society, Metropolitan, Country and Interstate competitions.

Kerryn has been an AAB delegate since 2004 assisting with the Accreditation Program, Cadet Video Modules, new critiques, ASCA Constitution and a questionnaire to establish perceptions of adjudicating. She has presented ASCA Writers’ Seminars, about the Mark up, Rules interpretation and Cadet information to the CVI Forum, Metropolitan, ACT and Country Coaches. In 2005/06 Kerryn received VIS scholarships to develop a Mentoring Program and the Victorian Sports Education Official.


Shirley Pettitt (ASCA delegate - Victoria)

Shirley has enjoyed a long association in Calisthenics as a pupil, coach, mother and now an adjudicator. Joining the Adjudicators' Association in 1998, Shirley has been a member of the Victorian Committee since 2002 and currently is the Vice President.

Roles undertaken include Assistant Cadet Coordinator, Combined Competition delegate, Minute Secretary and is Director of Planning on the ACF Committee of Management. Adjudicated at many levels and ages at local competitions as well as CVI State Championships, Royal South Street, Interstate and country competitions. Also conducted seminars to fellow adjudicators and coaches, particularly on Club Swinging and a Writer's Seminar. A willing member of committees and will now ensure that the AAB benefits from that.


Rhonda Ryan (ASCA delegate - South Australia)

Rhondda has been involved in Calisthenics for over 42 years and is currently coaching as well as adjudicating. She was awarded Life Member of the Calisthenic Association of South Australia after coaching State and National teams of all ages for many years and received numerous aggregate awards during that time.

She has adjudicated at the ACF Nationals Championships, Royal South Street Eisteddfod and in various states of Australia. She currently holds the position of President in South Australia and has served on the Executive Committee in a range of positions for a number of years.

Rhondda, now, is looking forward to contributing to the betterment of Calisthenics in South Australia and nationally during her first year of service on the Adjudicator's Advisory Board.


Karen Hicks (ASCA delegate - South Australia)

Karen Hicks has been an active adjudicator for the past 18 years with over 40 years involvement in the sport since an early age. She had numerous coaching successes in our field plus is trained in Ballet and Gymnastics. Karen has adjudicated at ACF National Championships, Ballarat Eisteddford, plus many Interstate appointments, covering all age groups and divisions. In 2005 she received a Certificate of appreciation for outstanding voluntary service to Calisthenics from the State Government, and was honoured in 2006 with Life Membership from the Calisthenic Assoc. of SA. Karen has held various positions on the SA Committee including President from 2003 - 2006 which has included serving on the AAB for the last 4 years .As Immediate Past President she will continue on the AAB with a firm & continued commitment towards the advancement of Calisthenics with SA and Nationally.


Dawn Chester (ASCA delegate - Western Australia)

Dawn Chester commenced adjudicating in Western Australia in 1979. She is currently the ASCA (WA) President and has held numerous positions within the WA Branch.  Dawn has been an Adjudicators’ Advisory Board member since 2005 and has also been awarded the NOP Calisthenic Official of the Year award.  Dawn has coached and adjudicated across all sections and levels of calisthenics. Adjudicating appointments have included ACF National Championships, Ballarat Eisteddfod, interstate and local competitions. Dawn’s involvement as a participant, coach, skills examiner, adjudicator and Calisthenic mum demonstrate the lifelong commitment and passion she has for developing, promoting and nurturing the artistic sport of Calisthenics.


Margaret Bourne (ASCA delegate - Western Australia)

Margaret Bourne is one of Western Australia's Inaugural Calisthenics adjudicators with approximately 30 years adjudicating experience. She has held many positions with the ASCA (WA) including President. Margaret represented ASCA (WA) on the Adjudicators' Advisory Board from its commencement in 1991 to 1999. Margaret was awarded the NOP Calisthenic Official of the Year for her services to the Adjudicators Advisory Board.

Margaret's adjudication experience extends across all sections and levels. Her experience has been at ACF National Championships, Ballarat Eisteddfod and many Interstate appointments. Margaret is committed to the ongoing development of the Australian Society of Calisthenic Adjudicators and has accepted a position on the Adjudicators' Advisory Board again this year.
