Coaching - Coaching Conference

Plans are now well advanced for the ACF national coaches conference, due to take place 18-20th January 2008 at AAMI stadium in Adelaide (“Football Park”). ACFCC delegates toured the complex earlier this year and all agreed it is a fabulous venue. It’s getting much closer now and we’re all very excited about the conference – how about you? Are you planning to come?

Still not sure that you need to go the conference? Where else are you going to gain HALF of your reaccreditation requirement in just one weekend? That’s a whopping 12 points for Level 1 coaches and 24 points for Level 2 coaches. An opportunity not to be missed!

But wait, there’s more! You will also enjoy a very full weekend of fun and friendship, meeting other coaches from all around Australia. Where else are you going to get the opportunity to ask questions of some of the most well known and successful calisthenic people in Australia? Want to make contact with coaches and clubs in another state? Here’s your chance.

Still not convinced? How about “kick-starting” your Level 2 program? To encourage more coaches to commence the Level 2 coaching course there will be THREE modules offered as part of the conference program. If you’ve ever thought about starting Level 2 but have been put off by the cost and inconvenience of attending interstate modules this is a real opportunity – no extra cost, no extra travelling involved – it will all be part of the conference.
And don't forget that the pre-requisites for Level 2 have recently changed - YOU may now be eligible to start Level 2 (read all about this and other recent changes to coaching accreditation on page 2 of the newsletter).

Now that we’ve convinced you to come along to the conference what are you waiting for? Registration forms are almost ready for distribution and the deposit to secure your spot at the conference will soon be due. Why not get together now with the coaches at your club and arrange a group trip! Perhaps your club will even help out with some fundraising to get you to the conference. Or why not take the whole family with you to Adelaide – there are some great beaches not far from the conference venue. Start thinking about your travel arrangements now!!!!

We are asking you to look at the entire list of topics (approximately 40 choices) and to nominate your top 10 in order of preference. If you want to attend the Level 2 modules please put them first on your list. ACFCC will then use the nominations to set the final program and allocate coaches between sessions.

Does this mean that all 40 topics will be run? No, unfortunately that would not be possible. The final selection of sessions to be run will be based on demand and feasibility. There are usually minimum and maximum numbers allowable in an individual session.

Does this mean that I will get all of my choices? The object of the exercise is that we want to know which topics are the most important to YOU. All efforts will be made to give people their preferences as much as possible however the final program will be based on demand. Also allocation between sessions will be based on the order of receipt of FULL payment for the conference – first in, first served.
